Memorable birthday bash for Andy Lau

HONG Kong superstar Andy Lau cried at his birthday party celebrations last Tuesday and Wednesday night, reported Nanyang Siang Pau. His birthday was on Sunday.

Lau, whose marriage to Malaysian Carol Chu was exposed by the media recently, posted an article on his official website, thanking God for blessing him and expressing appreciation to his loyal fans.

Lau said his 48th birthday was full of grace and that he was touched by fans who had showered him with presents.

It has been a tumultuous couple of months for Lau.

First, Chu’s father passed away, then the couple’s marriage registration in Las Vegas was discovered.

He received flak for lying about his marriage. On Sunday afternoon, a van delivered a birthday cake to Lau’s home in Hong Kong

BARELY a month after Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau and his wife Carol Chu walked hand-in-hand upon arriving in Hong Kong, the couple are avoiding being seen together in public.

Andy Lau offered to sleep with female Datuk (Datin)

HONG KONG : Mafia threats aren't the only reason why Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau decided to keep his relationship with long-time girlfriend, now wife, Carol Chu, a secret.

According to media reports, the Heavenly King had received an 'indecent proposal' by a Malaysian Datuk (an honorary title bestowed by the Sultan) to spend the night together after she became infatuated with the star.

While the 47-year-old politely declined her request, he kept his relationship with Chu under wraps to protect the latter. Last week, Lau came under fire for not acknowledging Chu to protect her after being threatened by the infamous Hong Kong mafia.

In 1983, Lau was just starting out his career with the hit television drama series "Return of the Condor Heroes". His popularity was gaining all over Asia and won over the hearts of many female fans, reported Malaysia’s Guang Ming Daily.

As the television series exposed Lau to the Asian market, he often had to travel to Malaysia for promotional events and appearances. These were often well attended and it was at one of these events that the Datuk came to know of Lau.

Regarding Lau as the "man of her dreams", the Datuk was present at every event in which he appeared. She also often gained access backstage to get closer to him.

Lau was oblivious initially and thought that she was just an over zealous fan or one of the event organisers in charge of autographs and photo-taking sessions. Little did he know that she had expected much more.

Rejecting her request, Lau had told her the he "was tired and wanted to return to his hotel to rest".

Andy Lau had marital agreement with Yu Ke Xin (Yu Ke-Hsin)

Taiwanese actress Yu Ke-Hsin revealed that Andy Lau signed a marriage certificate with her in 1985, witnessed by her mother.

Andy Lau hesitated when questioned by the media, but admitted that this was true.

He said that he was not worried about Yu producing the document. Yu and Lau dated for three years in the 1980s, and Yu claims that they broke up after he met Chu.

Yu said she was glad that he did not deny it. She also told Hong Kong papers that she suffered 15 years of depression due to her break up with Lau.
Would they sue Lau for bigamy? Yu and her mother said that there were no witnesses to the signing and the marriage was not legally registered.
They said the marriage certificate was only a promise so that Yu would feel more secure about their love, and they have kept it in a safe all these years along with other mementos.

Andy Lau to become father next year - Test-tube baby

There was a media report stating that Andy Lau and Carol have successfully having a "Test tube" baby. Hopefully, Andy will become a father next year and is hoping they may have twins too. It has not been easy for 48 year old Andy and 43 year old Carol as older parents wanting to have children. Yesterday, Andy went back to his "Heaven and Earth" club, put on his white clothes and looking tired, but still managed a smile in front of the media.

Reporters asked if it is true that a magazine reported he has a daughter attending school in Malaysia? Andy did not reply but later on, a lawyer speaking on his behalf made a statement that he has no children. He apologized to the children, his parents and family for the problem caused. He asked the media not to make any unnecessary guesses.

Andy left a message in the internet to say "If everything goes to plan and the baby is stable, I will announce it to everyone." Hong Kong obstetrician Dr. Lung Bing Leung expressed that although there is no age limit for artificial insemination, it is better for a woman to have it done before menopause, therefore before 50 is better.
